“You don’t have to be Hercule Poirot to find evidence of the builder’s efforts,” Yachting previously wrote about the Palm Beach 65. “Simply stroke the glossy woodwork with your fingertips or sight along the surface of the dinette table. You won’t see or feel any flaws in the finish. Powerful magnifying glass in hand, examine each joint for the tiniest gap or unevenness between two surfaces. Zero.”
The PB65 presents itself as the ultimate day cruiser, with open entertaining spaces, inside and out, and comfortable sleeping accommodations. Classic Coke is a 2019 Palm Beach 65 currently listed with Grand Banks Marine Group for $3.695 million.
“The Palm Beach 65 is the perfect balance of design and engineering, created by boaters for boaters,” Grand Banks Marine Group says. “Exquisite craftsmanship complements the vessel’s advanced hull design to result in a yacht that performs even better than it looks.”
Classic Coke has teak woodwork and high-quality build finishes that are as functional as they are stylish. The nearly 360 degrees of glass creates unimpeded sightlines and a light-filled interior.
This PB65 has an entertainment-friendly, main deck galley-aft layout with the galley immediately to port. Lounge seating includes an L-shaped settee to starboard and a bench seat forward to port. The galley countertop doubles as a two-seat bar. Meal-prep amenities include:
- Two-burner portable induction cooktop
- Miele H6800 BM speed oven
- Fisher Paykel DD24SI7 drawer dishwasher
- Isotherm DR160 fridge/fridge drawers
- Custom Blanco Zenos sink with pull-out designer faucet
The cockpit is a great spot to enjoy alfresco dining with the bench seat and fixed table aft, just pull up a few chairs to fit as many as six people. If the midday rays are too much, a sun shade can extend off the awning, shading the entire cockpit. There’s a second L-shaped dinette forward to starboard that can fit four to six more people with loose chairs pulled up.
Classic Coke features a three-stateroom layout that can sleep up to six people. Amidships, the master stateroom has a king berth, a 43-inch flat-screen TV and an en suite head. The forepeak VIP stateroom has a centerline queen berth while the final guest cabin has twin over-under berths.
Twin low-hour (340) 1,000 hp Volvo Penta D13 diesels give Classic Coke a 34-knot cruise speed and an impressive 40-knot top hop. When combined with Volvo DPS and an optional remote docking station at the cockpit, owners can feel confident leaving the dock or coming back in. It’s worth noting that slowing to a 25-knot cruise speed increases the PB65’s range to 802 nautical miles.
According to the builder the hull of the PB65 benefits from 100 percent vinylester resins and a cross-linked, closed-cell foam core for ideal durability.
“The monocoque construction includes a full infused carbon fiber superstructure along with bonding all bulkheads and fixed interior furniture directly to the hull and deck, producing optimum balance and stiffness,” Palm Beach Yachts says. “The racing-honed warped-V hull, and exceedingly low center of gravity deliver incredible cruising efficiency, speed and smoothness.”
“All bulkheads and fixed furniture are structurally bonded to the hull and deck for superior strength and rigidity. E-Glass, Corcell and Airex foam, Duflex paneling, stitched multi-axial fabric, vinylester and epoxy resins are used to produce an extremely strong and lightweight hull,” according to the builder.
Some other notable features include:
- Bow Thruster
- Washer and dryer
- Bose marine speakers
- BRIG Falcon 330HT tender with 20hp outboard
- Garmin electronics package
- Wine cooler
- Ice maker
