Champagne Lu Lu is a 2004 Ocean Alexander 58 that has been well maintained and upgraded over the years by its owners and is on the market at $995,000.
Alexander Marine stated that “when the legendary designs of Ed Monk and the exacting standards of Ocean Alexander come together, it’s time to raise your expectations. The 58 will change how you see any other motor yacht in its class. Some of the finest naval architects in the world have specified a classic, raised pilothouse design, but Ocean Alexander executes it with a level of safety and seaworthiness few can match. For all her renowned stability, the 58 is still astonishingly agile and filled with uncommon luxury, taking you beyond a mere destination to a state of mind”.
“This yacht is meant for long-legged cruising; you could live comfortably on her for a long time, and feel safe and secure taking her just about anywhere. And you’d feel justifiably proud all the way. The craftsmanship and attention to detail make the boat. The joinerwork in the book-matched Burmese teak is exceptional,” Yachting previously reported.
Powered by twin 700 hp Caterpillar C-12 diesel engines, Champagne Lu Lu can quickly spool up to 20 knots. But it’s not all about speed on a 2004 Ocean Alexander 58. Dial it back to around 13 knots and enjoy the luxury, comfortable ride and the views.
I have to start with my favorite spot on this yacht, the salon. Stepping inside through a stainless-steel- framed glass door from the cockpit, the first thing you notice is the custom exotic woodwork that glows in the light. It’s warm, providing an immediate feeling of relaxation. Recline in one of the leather loveseats to port or kick back on the sofa to starboard. Large windows let natural light flow inside while providing ocean views.
The galley is forward of the salon and to starboard, just abaft the helm. Across is a set of steps that lead to the flybridge and a U-shaped dinette. The U-shaped galley has plenty of counter space for food prep, and owners can prepare just about any type of gourmet meal using the cooktop, oven or microwave. Stow your cold goods in the oversized refrigerator/freezer and other galley accessories in the cabinets.
Primary access to the flybridge is via a set of steps in the cockpit. Guests can relax in a U-shaped settee that is shaded from the sun under the hardtop or join the captain in one of two Stidd helm chairs.
Guests can enjoy the open-air environment and sweeping views from the flybridge underway or choose to lounge around while grilling in the cockpit. Dive in and take a dip off the swim platform, or unload and take the tender out for a spin. T
