Grace’s owner is only the third of this custom-built Raised Pilothouse built in Tacoma, Washington, in the American Northwest. It’s currently offered by Gilman Yachts for $2.095 million.

The first owner brought the boat to Spencer Rybovich in 2002 where the interior layout was reconfigured and most of the joinery replaced. In 2005, the yard replaced the original Detroit Diesels with 1,550 hp CAT C-30s and added two new Northern Lights generators to provide reliable power while away from the dock. A hull extension of 9 feet allowed for a new aft crew cabin as well as a larger aft deck. Reportedly this refit was $4 million according to the broker.

Grace’s second owner reconfigured the galley, added the Pipewelders fiberglass hardtop, updated the Garmin electronics and more, including stabilization. Gilman says the third and current owner has continued with upgrades and improvements.

Of the builder, Yachting previously wrote: “When Norm and Phyllis Nordlund joined forces with Walt Silva in 1958 to form the Nordlund Boat Company in Tacoma, Washington, wooden yachts were at their zenith and the company quickly gained a reputation for high-quality custom building. Sons Paul and Gary, and daughter Karen, eventually joined the business and in the transition to fiberglass during the 1970s helped the company make the shift into new technologies. As the size of new custom boats continued to grow, Nordlund kept pace, but their interior work garnered a significant share of attention in the world-wide marketplace.”

This attention to detail, especially in the interior and sole, shows on Grace as well. It has a four-stateroom, six-head layout with crew quarters. The vessel’s maximum speed is 27 knots and it cruises comfortably at 20 knots. Fuel capacity is 3,420 gallons for extended range.

  • 8617 Garmin MFD screen
  • CAT engine displays
