IYC has listed the 108-foot Mangusta Cosmos for sale with broker Kevin Bonnie, who is managing partner in the Monaco office near the popular Port Hercules that draws some of the largest and most notable superyachts in the world.
Mangusta has long been a popular brand of motoryacht for owners who want head-turning speed and sleek styling. As Yachting reported a few years ago, Italian entrepreneur Giuseppe Balducci founded the company during the 1980s, taking on Tecnomarine’s then-dominant Cobra design. Balducci named his company after the Italian word for mongoose—mangusta—because the animal uses speed and agility to pounce on and kill venomous snakes such as cobras. The Mangusta brand entered the yachting scene in 1985 and has continued to build its fan base globally ever since.
Cosmos, launched in 2004, has all the sleek styling and speed for which the Mangusta brand is known. According to IYC, this yacht can achieve a top hop of 33 knots and has a cruising speed of 28 knots, giving it more than enough oomph to shorten the times needed to cruise between ports on the French and Italian Rivieras, or anywhere else.
Also according to IYC, Cobra underwent refits in 2021 and 2023. The work in 2021 included a refit of the salon on the main deck, fresh hull paint, engine service, new upholstery in the outdoors guest areas, upgraded entertainment systems, and the addition of a Williams jet tender.
In 2023, additional work included interior upgrades to the lower deck salon, sofas in the master stateroom and more.
Overall, Cosmos has accommodations for as many as 11 guests in four staterooms, including a stateroom with four bunks that’s ideal for a bevy of kids or teenagers. There’s also a dedicated lounge/games room on the lower deck, for intimate gatherings or for kids to hide out and play away from the adults.
The yacht’s décor is notable for its combination of silver, gray and white elements, creating a modern feeling of power even on the inside. Outdoors, guests have several relaxation areas for splitting up and enjoying the fresh air, including a sizable sun pad with a separate seating area aft, and a hot tub forward. Dining can be set up indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather.
What’s the asking price for the Mangusta Cosmos? The yacht is listed for sale with an asking price of about $3.76 million.
