The Horizon FD87 features bold lines from its nearly-plumb bow to its stern, lined with tinted hullside windows that accent the yachts’ stout nature. The Taiwan-based builder looked to address three specific market demands with the FD series: style, space and performance.
“Traditional yacht design wouldn’t accommodate the layouts and features we wanted, so advanced engineering and careful planning has been a necessity for many of the FD models,” says Horizon Yachts. “This is exactly what sets Horizon apart from other builders—our drive for innovation and our willingness to push the proverbial envelope.”
For owners looking to move into a crewed-yacht experience, Yacht Connexion currently has Bella Tu, a 2019 Horizon FD87, listed for $7.999 million. The 90-foot flybridge motoryacht has a five-stateroom layout that sleeps up to 10 people and a three-person crew quarters. “[Bella Tu] is a 2019 Horizon FD87 that has been professionally maintained,” Yacht Connexion says.
The FD87 has a modern, yet warm interior, aided by neutral tones and natural light from near sole-to-ceiling windows lining the salon. The main deck interior is laid out with the salon lounge aft, the formal dining amidships and the open galley forward.
The galley can be sectioned off from the rest of the main deck interior for more formal occasions or if privacy is preferred. The galley is equipped with an array of appliances, including:
- Full-height Subzero fridge and freezer
- GE cooktop, oven and range
- GE dishwasher and trash compactor
- Stainless-steel sink with GE disposal
- U-line wine cooler
Past the forward bulkhead, the on deck master stateroom features a king berth, a lounge chair, a desk, a variety of stowage, a Bose sound system and an en suite head. Belowdecks, four additional staterooms can sleep eight people, bringing the accommodations total to 10. Three of the remaining staterooms have queen berths while the last guest stateroom has sliding twin berths.
Inside the skylounge, the helm station is forward with three Stidd helm chairs. Aft, a dinette, day head, desk and 43-inch flat-screen TV provide a second interior lounge area.
Exterior entertainment is not to be overlooked on the FD87. Owners and their guests will have to decide between multiple well-appointed lounge areas around the yacht. The aft section of the flybridge is open with lounge seating aft, a bar to port and an L-shaped dinette to starboard.
On the main deck aft guests will find a transom sofa and a fixed folding table aft. Loose two-person sofas are positioned around the table, allowing up to 10 people to enjoy alfresco views. Forward, the foredeck has two separate spaces for guests to enjoy, the sun pad forward and a U-shaped dinette with two fixed tables abaft.
When it’s time to break out the water toys, the hydraulic swim platform and area behind the hydraulic transom door combine to make a beach club. And to retreat from the midday rays, guests will have access to the bar with a sink, a refrigerator and freezer and a sofa with a table.
Owners can expect a top speed of 20 knots and a 15-knot cruise speed with Bella Tu’s twin 1,600 hp MTU 10V2000 M96L diesels. It’s worth noting the engines have 2,072 hours on them.
