Good Life, a 2006 Hatteras Yachts 80 Motor Yacht, is a born-to-travel motoryacht with luxe touches, solid performance and is on the market with Alexander Marine USA for $2.595 million.

This yacht has twin 1,550 hp Caterpillar C32 diesels, which provide a reported top-end speed of 23 knots. Cruise speed is 17 knots. Those Cat diesels are housed in a well-organized engine room, with easy access to all systems for regular maintenance. Hatteras’ signature sound-and- vibration insulation reduces noise levels even when the engines are running at higher RPM.

Good Life’s cockpit is set up with a large teak dining table, bench-style settee and loose chairs, allowing guests to enjoy an alfresco dinner. A wet bar and refrigerator ensure guests have easy, all-day access to refreshments. The motoryacht has a hydraulic swim platform, making quick and effortless tender launches and water access. An integrated lighting and sound system create an inviting atmosphere for evening entertainment. For those who seek a little privacy, head up to the foredeck and relax on the sun pads.

The flybridge is fully enclosed, creating a skylounge, with a helm station forward. Alexander Marine USA stated, “The 80 maximizes your time outdoors with an expansive flybridge, with a full electronics suite and PC Monitoring System. The flybridge includes distinct social areas centered around a wet bar to port that includes three bar stools, refrigerator, sink and ice maker. Opposite and aft of the bar are two opposing L-shaped settees. Sun worshippers will appreciate the aft sun pad with stowage beneath, while backyard chefs will enjoy the double-burner Gaggenau grill.”

“The helm station, forward, made me feel as though I were piloting a sport cruiser, albeit a large one. I ran the 80 from the lower helm station, and the sound levels-66 decibels at cruise-were among the lowest I have tested. At sea, the 80 had a solid and responsive attitude; nothing seemed to faze her. Whether she was idling around the docks, going for long runs at 1,200 rpm and 13.2 knots, or hitting a fast cruise of 21 knots at 1,800 rpm, this Naiad-stabilized yacht behaved well-the only spray was created by the rotors of the helicopter used for our photo shoot. Our test ride proved displacement and speed could commingle,” Yachting previously reported.

Step into Good Life’s salon, the first thing you will notice is the high-gloss cherrywood cabinets, plush furnishings and panoramic windows that bathe the salon and galley with natural light. Open the sliding glass door to the cockpit and you get an indoor-outdoor vibe. Guests can relax on the C-shaped sofa or get a beverage from the wet bar while enjoying the game on the flat-screen TV.

The galley was designed to rival a home kitchen, featuring full-size stainless-steel appliances, granite countertops and abundant stowage for dry goods and galley accessories. It’s also equipped with a Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, four-burner cooktop, oven, microwave and dishwasher. The yacht’s open design includes a forward country kitchen-style dinette, allowing guests to enjoy meals in a relaxed setting while taking in the views. The galley’s sliding pocket door separates it from the main salon when privacy is desired.

After a long day on the water, owners and guests can retire to one of four staterooms, all en suite. The full-beam owners’ stateroom features a king-size berth, walk-in closet, his-and-hers heads with a shared shower and hullside windows. The VIP stateroom offers a queen-size berth with plentiful stowage for extended cruising, while the two guest staterooms have twin berths that convert to doubles. Each stateroom includes plush carpeting, high-end wood finishes and entertainment systems.

“It’s true-the sophisticated Hatteras 80 Motor Yacht is a boat without much of a downside, one poised to reach well beyond her North Carolina roots and into positions of global importance. From what I saw, she is already out of this world,” Yachting concluded in its review.

Where is Good Life located? The yacht is currently lying in San Diego, CA.
