If you’re interested in bluewater cruising you may want to add this Hampton Endurance 680 LRC to your short list. Worth Avenue Yachts currently has Sea Czar, a 2012 Hampton Endurance 680 LRC, listed for sale with a $1.95 million asking price.
Hampton built its Endurance 680 for serious long-range cruising, using a solid fiberglass laminate from the keel to six inches above the waterline. The yacht also has a Kevlar-reinforced collision zone from the bow area 12 feet aft under water and stretching to port and starboard another 12 feet.
But the builder’s attention to detail doesn’t stop at the hull construction, Yachting previously reported.
“Among the truly little things I noticed is the way the legs of the stools at the portside island galley were secured. The two front legs fit neatly and securely into a cutout at the base of the counter, anchoring them to the island… Based on countless boat tests, I’ve found this attention to detail almost always signifies that the big items will also stand out. And they certainly did on this Endurance.”
Sea Czar’s semidisplacement hull form allows it to run long, about 2,100 nautical miles, at 8 knots or jog at 19 knots. Power for this Hampton Endurance 680 LRC is provided by twin 873 hp Caterpillar C-18 diesels.
Accommodations belowdecks can sleep six and are designed for comfort on extended voyages. The full-beam owners’ suite has a walkaround king berth, a flat-screen TV and an en suite head. The forepeak VIP stateroom has an island queen berth and en suite head as well. The guest stateroom to port has side-by-side twins.
Regarding entertainment spaces aboard Sea Czar, this long-range cruiser provides a variety of options inside and outside.
There are two forward-facing bench seats flanking the Portuguese bridge entrance on the foredeck. Wide side decks with high rails make for safe passage back to the cockpit where there is alfresco dining at the bench seat and fixed table. Pull up a few chairs to fit up to six people for meals with a view. There’s also day head access directly from the cockpit.
The flybridge has an open area aft and an enclosed section forward. The after section is the tender stowage for the 13-foot AB Nautilus DLX, and there is also an 1,800-pound-capacity UMT davit. Forward is an L-shaped dinette and sofa abaft the helm station.
Windows running the length of the salon help the 68-footer’s interior feel voluminous when combined with the space’s neutral tones. To starboard, a lounge chair is abaft an L-shaped sofa, while two more lounge chairs are positioned to port, inviting guests to carry on casual conversation.
The galley’s fit and finish are noticeable, with high-gloss handcrafted custom contemporary panel Makore cherry cabinetry, a granite sole and a granite countertop with a forward-facing serving bar. Appliances include:
