Ferretti Yachts introduced the Altura 840 in late 2009, and at the time it was the Italian builder’s flagship motoryacht. Ferretti’s lineup now includes 100-foot models, but the Altura 840 remains a solid option on the brokerage market for owners looking to move up in LOA. Luke Brown Yachts currently has this 2010 Ferretti Altura 840 listed just shy of $2 million.

“The Altura 840 has high overheads, ample amounts of natural light, and a bright color scheme that makes the interior space feel open and airy,” Yachting previously reported.

While this Altura 840 is a 2010 build, in October 2023 it saw an array of updates, including new carpeting, new Frette bedding and towels, a new wrap on the hull sides and hardtop, and new exterior cushions on the foredeck and the flybridge.

When guests are ready to catch some sun, the foredeck has two sun pads splitting the centerline forward. Abaft the sun pads is a dinette that sits against the superstructure. In the cockpit, there is a transom bench seat and dining table for alfresco meals. Add a few chairs to accommodate up to eight people.

The flybridge is also equipped for entertaining with a lounge pad forward and to starboard, a U-shaped dinette amidships and another lounge pad aft. The after section of the flybridge is for PWC stowage and the upper helm station is forward and to port.

There is a split-level interior with the salon’s lounge area aft and the pilothouse forward and up a few steps. The salon has a U-shaped settee to starboard with two lounge chairs to port, creating a comfortable conversation space. The pilothouse has a single-seat helm station to port and an L-shaped settee directly to starboard.

Forward two guests’ spaces are both equipped with two single berths, while the forepeak VIP has a centerline queen berth and an en suite head.

Twin MTU 12V2000 engines power this Altura 840 to a reported 27-knot cruise speed and a 30-knot top hop. These engines currently have 2,200 hours on them and recently underwent 2,000-hour servicing.
