Bertram Yachts introduced the Bertram 35 at the Newport International Boat Show in September. The new model is the first to become available since the Bertram brand was relaunched under new ownership, and will be on display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in November.
Michael Peters Yacht Design collaborated with Bertram Yachts on the Bertram 35. The yacht is an update of the Bertram 31 that made the brand name famous more than 50 years ago. The size, power, and amenities of the Bertram 35 make it a solid option if you are looking to get one of the best sportfishing yachts.
“The dimensions of the boat are so much better, making the Bertram 35 a perfect dayboat or overnighter,” Bertram CEO Peter Truslow stated in a press release. “The cockpit and flybridge are huge. The salon is open and light thanks to the full wraparound windshield and windowed aft bulkhead. The large settee and complete galley make the salon much more practical for times when you want to stay out overnight fishing or on the hook. The stateroom and standup head are similar in size to those found on bigger convertibles. This boat is built like and feels like a larger yacht.”
Power for the Bertram 35: Hull No. 1 has Caterpillar 7 Series diesel engines. Future 35s will have Caterpillar’s new 7.1 series engines for an estimated top speed of about 40 knots.
