In the wake of its Barracuda 6, which was launched last fall, Beneteau has announced the imminent launch of that boat’s big sister, the Barracuda 9, which will debut in Europe at the Nantes European Saltwater Fishing Show later on this month. The boat is being marketed as both a good vessel for a gentleman angler, and also as a possible commuter for people who live and work on the coast due to its sporty speeds and comfortable interior.
The boat has an open and modular cockpit, allowing for different layouts depending on what activity the guests have decided to undertake. An access gate to starboard allows for easy entry to the area. The boat has an optional “fishing pack” that includes six rods, a side net roller, a livewell, a wash pump for cleaning the deck and a cutting board on the transom. These features make her well equipped for a fun day on the water snagging some dinner.
The Barracuda 9 will not only be fun when you’re catching fish with your friends and family, she’s also said to be quite comfortable on the inside. Matching bench seats to starboard and port face one another, while another twin bench seat at the helm is reserved for the captain and perhaps a close friend, who can keep watch on the boat’s vitals using a 9- and 12-inch display, respectively. The galley has a large refrigerator that should serve well to store enough food for longer day trips. A door shuts off the accommodations level from the salon. Down below you will find a master stateroom with a separate shower, as well as a space amidships that can be used as a second stateroom, or, perhaps more likely, as a stowage space.
The boat also has wide side decks leading to a forward lounge with four seats. That’s a great place to sit while underway, as the Beneteau should have a responsive and seaworthy hull that provides a safe and smooth ride, powered along by engine packages that range up to 500 hp in total. The boat can easily and comfortably fit ten people aboard, so you can bring friends and family along with you on your adventures.
