Three launches ranging from 104 to 108 feet from Italian builder Baglietto hit the water during the summer of 2001.
The 104-foot Blue Magic launched from the Varazze yard and characterizes Baglietto’s entry into the market of low speed, full-displacement vessels. Blue Magic has a rounded steel hull and aluminum alloy superstructure. She was built specifically for making Atlantic crossings and has a range of more than 3,000 nautical miles. Her cruising speed is 12 to 13 knots. Power comes from a pair of 900 hp 3412 ETA Caterpillar engines.
Nauta is a 108-foot build from the La Spezia yard. She is an all-aluminum planing vessel built to her owner’s specifications. One forward stateroom, three twin cabins and a full-beam owner’s suite aft make up the guest accommodations. Crew quarters are found forward in four cabins. Nauta is designed to reach a top speed of 34 knots and has a 30-knot cruising speed.
The 108-foot Thunderball, from the Varazze yard, is also an all-aluminum planing hull. Her owners requested special attention be given to her interior arrangements, which include a wide saloon, a dining room that seats 10, ebony within the furniture and panels, and table surfaces made of marble and onyx. A pair of 2,775 hp 12V 4000 M90 MTU diesels powers Thunderball to a top speed of 34 knots. When cruising at 25 knots, her range is about 700 nautical miles.
